April 12th – First Crack – Be the first to dig at our freshly excavated mine! This is the best time to mine with the best odds of leaving with a huge haul! Lunch is included and spots are limited! More info coming soon!
April 11th – First Day of Camping – The KOA Campground’s first day open!
April 15th – Mines Open – The Herkimer Diamond Mines first day open to the public! This includes our gift shop, the Trading Post.
May 11th – Care Kamp Weekend – Stay with us on May 10th – 11th and a portion of the site cost will be donated to the KOA Care Camps!
May 9th – 11th Mining with Mom – A special Mother’s Day Weekend at the Herkimer Diamond Mines, featuring jewelry crafting, karaoke, live music, and a mining discount just for moms. Wrap up the celebration with a delicious Mother’s Day brunch at Miner’s Table, making memories that will last a lifetime!

July 7th – Rock, Gem & STEAM Camp Week 1 – Enlist your budding geologist in one of our RGS Camp weeks, offering 3 full days of distinctive learning and fun. Enhance your visit with lodge accommodations, allowing you to unwind while they expand their knowledge! July 18th – Glow Crazy Weekend – Enjoy your favorite activities with a glowing twist, from tie-dye and bingo to glow slime wars and an after-hours glow pool party. Join the Glow Bike Parade, dance at our DJ Dance Party, and enjoy live music and glow games in the garden. It’s a weekend full of electrifying fun—don’t miss it!
August 1st – Hawaiian Luau Themed Weekend – Aloha! Get ready for a tropical getaway without leaving the campground. Hula your way into a weekend of leis, fruity drinks, and vibrant Hawaiian festivities. Partake site decorating contests for even more fun!
August 15th – Nature ROCKS Weekend – Mine for Herkimer Diamonds, sluice for gemstones, join a rock scavenger hunt, and create nature-inspired art. Enjoy live music, karaoke, and outdoor fun for all ages. Don’t miss this weekend of adventure and creativity!
August 28th – Haunted Herkimer Halloween Themed Weekend – Christmas in July? How about Halloween in August! Embrace the spooktacular spirit of Halloween. September 5th – VKR Reward Card Weekend – A special weekend dedicated to our valued VKR members! Members who camp with us this weekend will camp for free Saturday the 6th!
September 12th – Pet Lovers Weekend – Where your furry friends take center stage! Enjoy activities like trick showcases, “Best Of” contests, and fun doggie games. Perfect for the whole family—including your four-legged companions—it’s a paws-itively unforgettable weekend. Don’t miss out on this tail-wagging good time!
October 10th – Fall Harvest Festival Themed Weekend – Welcome autumn’s arrival with a bounty of seasonal delights. There will be a cornucopia of fall-themed festivities!
October 22nd – Scout BSA Geology Merit Badge – Participate in our exclusive event designed for troops to meet the requirements essential for earning the Geology Merit Badge.
October 23rd – Scout BSA Mining in Society Merit Badge – For those who have already earned the Geology Merit Badge in any prior year, expand your badge achievements with our newly introduced program. Two unique badges in one weekend, you don’t want to miss this!
