Campground Policies

Deposits: A credit card deposit equal to your first night stay is required and will be charged at time of reservation
Site Guarantee: To request a specific site number, there is at one time, non-refundable $25.00 “Select My Site” fee. If you do not pay this fee you will be reserving the site type, not specify site.
Minimum Stay:
There is a minimum 2 night minimum stay on ALL sites on all weekends from June 1st – October 1st  
3 night minimum on all sites during holiday weekends. 
      *Memorial Day: May 31st - Independence Day: July 4th – Labor Day: September 6th – Columbus Day: October 11th 
Cancellation Policy:
  • RV & Tent Sites- cancellations made before 48 hours prior to arrival will have a $10 cancellation fee
  • Cabin- cancellations made before 7 days prior to arrival will have a $10 cancellation fee 
  •  Cottage, & Lodges- cancellations made before 14 days prior to arrival will have a $10 cancellation fee
Any cancellations made inside these time frames will result in no refund. 
There is no refund for a holiday or special event weekend.

Refunds: Herkimer Diamond Mines KOA Resort is a privately owned campground and we reserve the right to remove any guest or revoke privileges at any time with no refund to maintain the peace and relaxation of our family campers.
Tents: Deluxe Tent sites may have a maximum of two tents per site, and basic tent sites may have a maximum of one tent per site. An exception would be a screen tent or a pop-up tent for storage. There are no tents allowed near Cabins, Cottages, Lodges, or on RV sites.
Check In / Check Out
Check In for RV and Tent sites is at 1 pm. Check in for Lodging and Cabins is 3 pm. Checkout is at 11am for everyone.
After Hours Check In With Reservation: 
If you have a reservation and arrive after the office closes for the night, we will have an envelope with your name on it on our board to the left of the office door containing your welcome packet and directions to your site. Please check in at the office the next morning. 
After Hours Check In – NO RESERVATION ( RV and Tent ONLY)
If you do not have a reservation and arrive after hours, please come in the next morning to register. 
Speed Limit: The speed limit at the KOA Campground is 4mph at all time
Motorcycles: Motorcycles are welcome. Off Road motorized vehicles (ATV’s/Dirt Bikes) are prohibited
Fish, Tube, Canoe, & Kayak: All are allowed in the West Canada Creek, at your own risk. Please watch your children. Fishing requires a NY Fishing License. You can purchase a NY Fishing License at Stewarts Shop in Middleville.
Pavilion Policy: Our Pavilion is used heavily over weekends for our Camp Activities as well as for our restaurant, Miner’s
Table's catered parties. When it is able to be made available, it may be used by KOA Guests exclusively, please inquire about availability at the KOA Office.
Campers & Cars: Washing campers and cars is strictly prohibited on the campground.
Firewood: New York State Law:  No wood may be brought into any campground that is NOT within a 50-mile radius of that campground. You may purchase a bundle of wood at the KOA Office and we can deliver it to your site! 
Open fires are permitted in fire rings only - NO fires left unattended.  Fire pit must be cool to touch upon departure from site!
Fireworks: For the safety and tranquility for all, please leave these items at home…….
-Fireworks, firecrackers or Chinese fire lanterns (the lanterns get caught in our trees!)-Guns of any kind (includes BB & paintball) or bows/arrows.
Pool Policy: There is no lifeguard on duty. All swimmers must sign a waiver for the site in the office and then sign in each individual at the pool gate. The pool is for registered guests only. New York State Law, all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while swimming. 24 Hour Camera Surveillance at pool area.
Quiet Time: Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am.
Smoking: Herkimer Diamond Mines KOA Resort is a Smoke Free Property. 
Trash: Please keep your site clean, this includes the entire Herkimer Diamond Mines KOA Campground, and the Herkimer Diamond Mines prospecting area.  There are trash and recycling cans located by the cabins, cottages, lodges, beside the KOA Office, in the Prospecting area, and in front of the Herkimer Diamond Mines Gift Shop.
Visitors: A nominal visitor fee of $5.00 per vehicle applies. All visitors to the KOA Campground must check in at the front desk and receive a vehicle tag and parking options.
Pet Policy:
KOA Campgrounds are pet friendly and welcome our guests who enjoy traveling and sharing their camping experience with the family dog or cat. However, to insure all of our guests have a safe and enjoyable time, it is important that you read and abide by the following our KOA pet policy:
  • New York State Law: copy of the rabies certificate/ vaccines must be presented at time of check in.
*MUST HAVE BREED LISTED ON RECORD
  • We love four legged friends but please leave aggressive dogs at home! If you have a small doubt about your dog's behavior towards strangers or camping, please reconsider bringing them camping.
  • Limit 2 dogs. For additional dogs please inquire at time of reservation. Additional charges may apply.
  • Must be on a leash or contained at all times (except in our Kamp K9).
  • No leashes over 6ft.long. When tied up at site, dog may not be able to reach to road.
  • Pets must be picked up after - even at your site.
  • Dogs that are barking constantly or aggressive may be asked to exit the park. Please don't bring your pet if you think they may ruin someone else's relaxing weekend!
  • No dogs tied up outside when you are not there.
  • No dogs inside buildings or on playgrounds. Our KOA Campground does not allow pets inside any building except for the following approved buildings: KL17, KL18, DK5, K09, K10, K18, K19, KT1 and SL3. A pet fee of $10.00 per pet, per night is required for our Pet Friendly buildings.
  • Dogs are allowed on the Diamond Mines property, but not in the actual rock quarry, gift shop, or café/eating area. Please clean the area after your pet has visited. Pet must be on leash at all times.
  • Service dogs of any breed are welcome at our KOA Campground. However, these animals must follow leash restraint policies and may not exhibit aggressive behavior. Comfort/Therapy/Emotional support pets will still have to follow our pet policy and a $10.00 per pet per night fee will apply in our pet friendly lodging.
Herkimer Diamond Mines KOA Campground does not accept certain breeds that have been identified by the major insurance providers as having a history of unfriendly and aggressive behavior to other dogs and to humans. These breeds are Pit Bulls, Rottweiler’s, Dobermans and any mix of these breeds.
Personal Code of Conduct
Please refrain from inappropriate language, and actions with respect to race, religion, sex, and politics. 
Alcohol is permitted by legal drinking age adults. Illegal Drugs are strictly prohibited.
GARUNTEE AT THE KOA 
WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR SITE AND AMENITIES, BUT IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED, OR IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH ANY OF THESE POLICIES, PLEASE AVAIL YOURSELF OF OUR ONE HOUR REFUND POLICY. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ENTER A CABIN AND THEN DECIDE TO SEEK A ONE HOUR REFUND, THERE WILL BE A RECLEANING/SANITIZING CHARGE. ANY PERSON WHO VIOLATES THESE POLICIES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE CAMPGROUND WITH NO REFUND.
